  • Breakfast, 8 a.m. - 9 a.m., Dining Centers
  • Passages Check-in/Information, 8 a.m. - 6 p.m., Spotlight Room, Bone Student Center If you haven't done so this week, pick up your Passages meal ticket, get your orientation group assignment, and receive your free Passages Planner identifying all the details about this exciting weekend.
  • ***Department Meetings,  9:45 a.m. - 10:30 a.m. - Various Academic Buildings Learn about the academic expectations and opportunities in your major or area of interest by meeting representatives from the departments/colleges. General students/undeclared majors should attend the University College meeting. Secondary education majors (history education, English education, etc.) should attend the meeting of their major instead of the College of Education meetings. Meetings are mandatory.
  • **Convocation,  11 a.m. - 12 p.m. , Braden Auditorium, Bone Student Center Participate in this formal welcome to campus. You'll learn about the culture and traditions of Illinois State, and the civic and academic expectations of the University. Enjoy this first official activity as the Class of 2012.
  • Lunch, 12 p.m. - 1:30 p.m., Dining Centers
  • **Technology QuickStart, 12 p.m. - 5 p.m., College of Business Building, Room 130 These one-hour technology orientation sessions provide vital information about the technology you'll use at Illinois State. Required for all new students. Attend the session you signed up for at Preview. Haven't registered or forgot your session time? Contact us.
  • Freshman to Graduation, 1:30 p.m. - 2:30 p.m. Circus Room, Bone Student Center, Find out how to be the best Redbird possible both in and out of the classroom. Learn how to balance studying, along with friends, family, and work. This session will help you set goals and develop a plan to achieve them. Staff will offer advice to help you become a successful student and graduate of Illinois State.
  • Rec Center Open House, 1:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m., Rec Center, Enjoy sand volleyball, 3-point contests and more. Walk to the Rec Center or take the Bloomngton/Normal city bus - pink line from Watterson Towers to the corner of Beech and Willow Streets.
  • Transfer to Graduation (especially for transfer students), 1:30 p.m. - 2:30 p.m., Old Main Room, Bone Student Center Find out what you'll need to stay on track and make it to your final destination - graduation! Learn what questions to ask and tips to help you avoid common mistakes. All transfer student are highly encouraged to attend.
  • Money Management/Student Employment Session, 2:30 p.m. - 3:30 p.m. , Old Main Room, Bone Student Center
    Need help managing your finances? Have you ever followed a budget? Find out quick and easy tips to help you manage your finances, debt, and spending habits. Staff from Financial Aid will provide basic money management tips and be available to answer your financial questions.
  • It's a Different World (session for students of color), 2:30 p.m. - 3:30 p.m., Founders Suite, Bone Student Center Find out what life at Illinois State is like for students of color, university expectation, and the many resources available to help you succeed and make this campus "home."
  • Campus Involvement Session, 3:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. Prairie Room, Bone Student Center Be a part of the action on campus by participating in campus activities or joining a student organization. Meet representatives from the Dean of Students Office and various student leaders for their perspectives on the benefits of being active on campus. Information on more than 300 campus organizations including recreational groups, departmental clubs, entertainment organizations, fraternities/ sororities, and much more will be available.
  • Dinner, 5 p.m. - 6:30 p.m. Dining Centers Enjoy dinner with your new friends and other students living in your residence hall and get ready for an evening of fun.
  • Free Bowling, Billiards and Karaoke, 8 p.m. - 12 a.m., Bowling & Billiards Center The night's just begun! Enjoy FREE bowling, billiards, video games and singing to your favorite tunes. Your Redbird ID card is required.
  • Orientation Leader Event, 9 p.m. - 12 a.m. location TBA Meet other students and enjoy an evening of fun.
